Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Names CAIR-MN's Jaylani Hussein 'Visionary Leader'
(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 6/25/15) -- The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) yesterday presented its annual "Visionary Leader" Award to Jaylani Hussein, executive director of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN).
That award is presented to individuals who demonstrate "the ability to develop and implement creative and effective organizational leadership strategies" and who "create and nurture valuable collaborations and partnerships to advance the work of nonprofits, and result in tangible benefits to the community."
"We thank the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits for recognizing Jaylani Hussein's leadership abilities and CAIR's positive impact in the community," said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.
This year's award was offered in partnership with YNPN - Twin Cities, the Harvard Club of Minnesota Foundation and the Center for Integrative Leadership (CIL) at the University of Minnesota.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
